The tour includes a visit to the observation deck in front of the planetarium, a drive over the Bugrinsky Bridge, a trip to the “Arena” park, a visit to the city center (Sverdlov Square and its ensemble), the old town, Lenin Square, Gorky Park, Kommunisticheskaya Street, the State Public Scientific and Technical Library (with its remarkable fountains), the Central Railway Station, the Opera Theater, and then the Embankment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe Novosibirsk Zoo named after Rostislav Alexandrovich Shilo is one of the largest zoos in Russia. It covers an area of 65 hectares and houses about 12,000 animals of 790 species. More than 350 species are listed in the International Red Book. About 180 species are listed in the Red Book of Russia and Regional Red Books. There are international studbooks for 110 species.
\nThe Novosibirsk Zoo is engaged in breeding felines and mustelids and has one of the best collections in the world of representatives of these families. The zoo staff participates in 77 international programs for the conservation of rare and endangered animal species. It is a member of two international unions: EARAZA (Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and WAZA (World Association of Zoos and Aquariums); it is also a candidate member of EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums). The zoo participates in the international computer program ZIMS.
