Meeting point: the inner courtyard of NSU at 1 Pirogova St., near the entrance to Block No. 1, at 13:30.<\/span>
\nThe excursion starts at 13:40<\/strong>. Duration: 1\u20131.5 hours, until approximately 15:00.<\/span>

July 8, 2026 (Wednesday) \u2014 \u201cHow the Sea Was Built\u201d Excursion<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Departure from NSU at 10:00<\/strong> from the area near the transformer booth at the end of the NSU building on Universitetsky Proezd.
\n<\/span>The excursion starts at 10:30. Duration: 1.5 hours, until 12:00. Return transfer at 12:00. Arrival at NSU at approximately 12:30\u201312:40.

The walking tour \u201cHow the Sea Was Built\u2026\u201d includes a large amount of local history information, memories of long-time residents, interesting stories, photo and video archives, and at the same time offers a pleasant walk along the embankment with a view of the Ob \u201cSea\u201d and a visit to the Chyomy Museum.
\n<\/span>We invite you to take a walk along the ObGES embankment and enjoy the remarkable views of the \u201cOb Sea\u201d.
\n<\/span>During the excursion, you will learn:
\n<\/span>\u2013 how many plans there were to dam the river and why the river was not dammed according to the original plan;<\/span>
\n\u2013 how a remote village became part of Novosibirsk;<\/span>
\n\u2013 why the first Russian settlers chose the left bank of the Ob River;<\/span>
\n\u2013 what the district looked like in the 1950s;<\/span>
\n\u2013 why Novosibirsk needed a hydroelectric power station and whether it could have managed without one;<\/span>
\n\u2013 what happened on October 27, 1956.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>The excursion starts at 14:30<\/strong>. Duration: 1.5 hours, until 16:00. Return transfer at 16:00. Arrival at NSU at approximately 16:30\u201316:40.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Group size: up to 30 people.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Please note that in summer the temperature in the greenhouses can be high \u2014 up to 50\u00b0C.<\/span><\/p>\n

July 9, 2026 (Thursday) \u2014 Trip to Mikhailovskaya Embankment in Novosibirsk with the \u201cSeven Bridges\u201d Boat Excursion
\nDeparture from NSU at 16:00<\/strong> from the area near the transformer booth at the end of the NSU building on Universitetsky Proezd.<\/span>
\nArrival at Mikhailovskaya Embankment at approximately 17:00\u201317:30, depending on traffic. After arriving in the city, participants will have free time for an independent walk along the embankment and a ride on the Ferris wheel. Ferris wheel tickets are purchased by participants independently.<\/span>
\nAfter that, all participants should gather at the Rechnoy Vokzal pier by 18:15 for boarding.<\/span>
\nThe \u201cSeven Bridges\u201d excursion starts at 18:30<\/strong>. Duration: 2 hours, until 20:30. Return transfer at 20:30. Arrival at the Zolotaya Dolina Hotel at approximately 22:00.<\/span>
\nGroup size: up to 20 people.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Important: for this trip, the conference organizers provide only the bus transfer from NSU to the embankment and back to Akademgorodok. The Open-Air Museum is a division of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The museum includes several historical buildings, a collection of archaeological stone statues and slabs with petroglyphs, as well as ethnographic reconstructions.
