The symposium program will comprise two thematic tracks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"545\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">The central topics of the first track, \u201cMedical Human Genomics\/Genetics,\u201d include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"873\">\n<li data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"622\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">molecular diagnostics, therapy, and epidemiology of hereditary diseases;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"710\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">functional genomics and modeling of genetic processes and hereditary human diseases;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"801\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">multi-omics approaches to studying the hereditary component of multifactorial diseases;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"873\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">issues in the genetics and genomics of human ontogenesis (development).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Topics addressed within the second interdisciplinary track, \u201cPopulation and Evolutionary Human Paleogenomics\/Paleogenetics,\u201d which draws on methods from paleogenetics, paleogenomics, ethnogenomics, archaeology, anthropology, linguistics, and related fields, include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"2798\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\n<li data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"1308\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">reconstruction of early stages of the evolutionary history of human ancestors, their dispersal across the planet, and their role in the emergence of modern humans;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1626\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">reconstruction of the genetic diversity of ancient Homo groups that contributed to the genetic makeup of present-day humanity (Neanderthals, Denisovans, and early <em>Homo sapiens<\/em>), including elucidation of evolutionary relationships among species\/populations of ancient humans and the processes of their hybridization;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"2259\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">studies of the genetic structure and genetic history of temporally distinct populations of modern humans based on analyses of variability in a broad range of phylogenetically and phylogeographically informative genetic markers (mitochondrial DNA, the Y chromosome, other nuclear-genome markers, including whole-genome analyses), as well as analyses of the human epigenome, transcriptome, and metagenome.
