This study presents the speCOIdent web application. This application was developed to make the analysis of genotyping more straightforward and is designed for Lake Baikal region amphipods. It offers convenient determination of not only species but also genetic lineage, which is crucial in studies of cryptic species. speCOIdent performs identification based on a database of sequenced COI sequences. The application provides information on gene type (18S rRNA or COI), species, genetic lineage, and known locations of the species/genetic group as an interactive, zoomable map. Furthermore, COI sequences of several populations of the amphipod species Eulimnogammarus verrucosus (Gerstfeldt, 1858) from Lake Baikal and the Angara River were analyzed using speCOIdent to determine their genetic lineages. This application is publicly available and can be accessed at http://bioinformatics.isu.ru:3838/speCOIdent/. Furthermore, the source code of speCOIdent has been made publicly available on the GitHub web service at (https://github.com/MutinAndrei/Shiny-web-application-for-analyzing-genotyping-results).
