Two ancient complete genomes of A. aphrophilus, an opportunistic pathogen, were collected and analyzed. The study revealed the key differences between these ancient genomes and the modern genomes of the same species. For the first time, the differences between modern clinical strains and commensal strains of A. aphrophilus were also shown.
