The study of the mechanism of barley's (Hordeum vulgare L.) response to ionizing radiation  has revealed key molecular pathways of adaptation to abiotic stressors. Using gamma, electron, and proton radiation along with whole-genome sequencing, genes related to cell wall biosynthesis and modification were identified.
