Phylogenetic reconstructions performed for ancient and modern individuals belonging to Canidae family from the territory of Siberia and Central Asia
The study includes ancient and recent individuals of various canid species collected on the territory of the Altai Republic, the Khakassia Republic, the Sakha Republic, the Krasnoyarsk Kray, the Irkutsk Oblast, the Omsk Oblast, the Novosibirsk Region and the Far East. Consensus mtDNA sequences were obtained for a number of individuals. Based on consensus sequences and sequences from the literature, the haplogroup median-joining network and phylogenetic tree were constructed. The phylogenetic reconstruction showed that we managed to obtain some new haplotypes of the cytochrome b gene as well as new mtDNA sequences for some animals of the canid family, revealing the new information about the evolution of species.
