In this work, we investigated bacteria-plasmid interaction network from gut communities of critically ill patients. Antibiotic resistance genes located on plasmid contigs were identified to study possible distribution pathways. We also compared the plasmid pool and the complete genomes of bacteria inhabiting the intestines and lungs of patients in order to investigate the phenomena of their possible translocation and co-colonization.
